Honored to have four images included in Prabal Gurung’s first coffee table book. Seeing the full spreads in print is truly magical. Shot over a couple years, the images remind me of all my fashion week experiences, the evolution of trends and many seasons backstage. Fall 2017 Beauty for Allure
I captured beauty looks at Thakoon and Prabal Gurung backstage for Allure. Hair, makeup and nails were so strong at both shows.
Prabal had some big named models including Joan Smalls, Bella Hadid and Jasmine Tookes. There wore the bold eye look well on the runway. Thakoon's hair was a combed back look with beachy waves and a light pinky coral lip, matching the silk coral in the fabric of the blouses.

Femininity With A Bite
The above title was the show's hashtag, which should give you a not so subtle hint of the theme of Prabal's Fall 2017 collection.
Prabal Gurung's approach to feminism was inspiring. Girls marched down the runway finale in white and black tees with sayings like "You Can't Stop Me" and "This Is What A Feminist Looks Like." An ode to the female body and empowerment continued through the show with choice of models of varying body shapes on the runway. Bold colored graphic eye liner above the lid mirrored the theme of empowerment with slick back ponies.
Model Ashley Graham sat front row to support Prabal, her new partner in collaborating for Lane Bryant . SJP also was in attendance and shed some tears backstage when talking to the designer about the beauty of the collection. Other friends included stylist Rachel Zoe, Quantico's Priyanka Chopra and Contance's Upper East Sider Leighton Meester.

When Prabal asked to work with me again, I immediately responded YES. all CAPS.
I adored working with the team when I was shooting their BTS for their pre-fall lookbook and was thrilled to work with the creative and passionate team once again.
"Just do your thing." No shot list. No requirements. No off-limit areas. I was able to capture, explore and create content for their social channels with no restrictions. This isn't always the case backstage at shows, even if you are shooting for the designer themselves. Hailey Baldwin was their "star" backstage. She was also on my model bucket list and was eager to shoot her transformation of pre-hair & makeup to off the runway.

Pre Fall 2016 Prabal Gurung
I love being able to shoot the same designer in multiple seasons. It allows me to creatively shoot different and tell a new story of a brand new season collection.
This week I shot BTS (behind the scenes) at Prabal Gurung's lookbook at Milk Studios. I like to talk with the team before I begin. See what the most important pieces are and what the inspiration was for the collection. This way I capture what they need as well as complete the story with the key factors photographed. Prabal's team expressed how much they adored the studs seen on cuffs, back of zippers, etc. The edginess of the stud contrasted with the loose chic nature of the clothes not only presented a unique photo but was vidal to the Pre Fall 2016 collection.

Prabal Gurung for T Magazine
At Prabal Gurung's show there were so many photo dreams-where the stars align for a shot and a photographer melts of happiness.
- The Monks. 30 Buddhist monks opened the show, to show support to those killed in the earthquake in Gurung's native Nepal in April.
