It’s another Friendsgiving with the Parachute team in New York. Hosted at Celestine’s in Dumbo, the intimate dinner overlooked the skyline and Brooklyn Bridge. The tablescape was a dream complete with all items from Parachute Home. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday this year and get a little time to break from emails & social media.
Parachute Friendsgiving 2019
Parachute Friendsgiving
New York’s first snow storm set the scene for this Thanksgiving hosted by Parachute. A stunning tablescape with calligraphy namecards and candles filled the long table in the back room of Brooklyn’s Dumbo House. I was so inspired by the Bubby’s pies on the tables, that I ordered one for my own Thanksgiving.
Hope you all have a great break this week. I am so thankful for you all supporting my work and following along on my blog!
Hellessy Resort
Instead of hosting a show or presentation, designer Sylvie hosted an all women's poker game. The players? Actresses, models, bloggers, editors and fashionistas wearing in the collection. A three corse dinner was served while the women played and flaunted their chip winnings.
After this night, I am definitely going to learn to play and host my own game like Sylvie.
OUT Leadership VIP Dinner
OUT Leadership hosted their annual VIP Dinner prior to the Leadership Conference earlier this week at the Bank of America Tower.
Advice: Highly consider working for BOA solely because of the view the 51st floor provides.
I always leave these events feeling inspired. OUT manages to always have speakers that engage the audience in thoughtful discussions. Ken Mehlman of KKR and David Mixner, human rights activist and author, held a captivating talk during dinner.
Mixner made a striking comment that stuck with me.
He said to make it unacceptable for your friends not to be registered to vote this year. He recommended not inviting friends who are not registered to vote to any social gatherings to further prove how important this election is for LGBT activists and allies. I couldn't agree more. This upcoming election is too important to not vote. He said "we have worked too hard to get here to have everything we have worked for taken away."
If you are reading this post and are not registered to vote, please go sign up right now and head to outleadership.com for more information about the organization.
