I ventured out of my apartment to shoot a socially distance wedding during COVID-19 quarantine. It was the joy and spark I needed to continue keeping myself sane during this time. I hope the images give this moment justice because it truly was a sight of love.
The bride and groom were surprised with a multi-genre brass band outside their apartment. The band followed the couple to Bryant Park where they popped champagne and danced 6 feet apart from the “guests” (new yorker bystanders). Callie, the bride, used a binder clip to take in her dress and Steve, the groom, ordered rings off of amazon. New Yorkers gathered around, all with cellphones up taping the couples first dance on the steps of the iconic NYPL to Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York.
It is days like these that remind me how remarkable New York City is. Although it wasn’t the wedding they had in mind, it was a special day that focused solely on their love in the city of love.
