Delpozo for T Magazine

Delpozo...the most stunning show to end my NYFW.

I photographed model Kadri Vahersalu, who has 2 different colored eyes, in a look backstage prior to first looks for an exclusive article for T. 

Glitter was splashed over the eyelids of the models-mirroring the sequins in the gowns that were more Couture than RTW.

Models lined up outside Pier 59 overlooking the water for a photoshoot before first looks. Originally the shoot was just for the house photographer until all the other photographers got jealous looking at the perfect setup and lighting and became vultures trying to capture the moment before it disappeared. 

Before I knew it the show was over and my time at fashion week had ended. This was by far my favorite fashion week out of the six prior that I have done.

I am continuously amazed by the creativity of the designers and will be counting down until February.

Prabal Gurung for T Magazine

At Prabal Gurung's show there were so many photo dreams-where the stars align for a shot and a photographer melts of happiness.

1. The Monks. 30 Buddhist monks opened the show, to show support to those killed in the earthquake in Gurung's native Nepal in April.
2. Steam from the hair straightener
3. 800 people doing makeup, nails and hair on a girl at once
4. Hugs and kisses between models and designers and whoever
5. Laverne Cox. #TransisBeautiful

Carolina Herrera for T Magazine

No joke, I cried at this show. Tears of beauty. 

I was so overwhelmed by how stunning the show was. Call me lame, I don't care...I was shooting Carolina Herrera.

VS Angels, Romee, Lily, Kate and Martha attended. As well as Penelope Cruz.

Alexander Wang After Party for T Magazine

This will probably be the most crazy blog post I ever write. Bullet points.. HERE WE GO...

• Swamped outside with paparazzi taking photos of Nikki Minaj and Mary J. Blige
• Six pole dancers surround the room
• Hooters sponsor. DELICIOUS wings provided on trays
• Got in VIP because model tripped and took down the robe with her
• Standing next to Tyga and Kylie Jenner in VIP
• Took photo of Lady Gaga...the flash on my camera made her trip and fall
• Kicked out of VIP (due to the above)
• Danced my way through the crowds
• Bumped into 2 alum friends from Syracuse - Go Orange!
• Shots poured from ice sculpture
• In bed by midnight

Ryan Roche for T Magazine

T Magazine sent me to cover Ryan Roche's presentation. BOY AM I GLAD THEY DID.

I drooled and cried over the beautiful knits in ivory and light pink. I imagined myself wrapping up in them and having a hot cup of coffee.

The collection debuted at The High Line hotel, which has amazing cathedral ceilings and stained glass. Champagne was offered while guests weaved their way in and out of the arc of models.

Yigal Azrouel for Nylon

A little fresh faced beauty backstage at Yigal's show Friday morning.

Slick ponies that would make any girl want extensions and dewy cheeks a little flush pink. 

Zelda Rae Williams and Analeigh Tipton sat front row for the show. Both came seconds before the start and lingered after for photos and interviews. 

A squeezed my way in between the rows and luckily was short enough to stand for the entire show and shoot an interesting angle above the crowd. It's the little things that make me smile.

Adam Selman for Nylon

Yesterday afternoon I met up with Mei Kawajiri. If you don't know her, google her now. 

She is by far the coolest chick and does KILLER nail art. (More about her later in another blog post coming soon). She drew inspiration from Adam Selman's past collection when doing my nails right before I went to Milk Studios to shoot the runway and front row for Nylon. 

I have shot Adam's show two times prior to this one. He always has an innovative look on style and the modern woman. His collection never ceases to amaze me and by the extent of his front row, I am clearly not alone. 

Amy Sedaris was the first to arrive. Her and I chatted a bit, mostly on why it was 10 min to showtime and no one was there. She was sweet and the bow sweater suited her well from Adam's last collection.

Atlanta de Cadenet, Dree Hemingway, Lea DeLaria of Orange is The New Black, Sky Ferreira and many more soon followed. A million guests and photographers rushed past Questlove as they headed into their cabs and ubers post show. He was polite enough to let me snap a shot of him before I left Milk Studios.  

I couldn't have asked for a better first show to start off my week.

Zimmerman for Damsel in Dior

Jacey Duprie of Damsel in Dior and I have collaborated this season to capture some of her looks at NYFW. 

Jacey wore this gorgeous dress with pretty peach and grey tones to the Zimmerman show on Friday. The dress was practically begging me to ask her to spin in it.

I gravitated towards this dark greenish door with hard structure and lines juxtaposed against the dress.

Ovadia and Sons SS16 NYFWM

Last week I covered the Ovadia & Sons show at New York Fashion Week Men's. Held at the Skylight Clarkson Sq, the show was as I like to call "beautiful chaos." Staff were running around backstage on headsets grabbing racks of clothes and cramming to set up after the previous designer's show. Models are chilling outside playing with chattering teeth wind up toys and drinking juices as they wait for rehearsal to start.

I rotated between covering backstage, first looks, front row and runway. 

Actor RJ Mitte blended in with the models. The only thing making him stand out, was the Breaking Bad fans (other models) taking selfies with him backstage every 3 seconds. 

It was an honor to photograph Ariel and Shimon Ovadia. Their passion for the brand and fashion is evident in the clothes they produce and the level of detail put into their craft. 

Moments before the start of show, R.Kelly took his place front row with cigar in mouth next to the other front row attendees Dwayne Wade, Gabrielle Union, Elaina Watley, Victor Cruz, Johnny Galecki, Colton Haynes and Ally Maki.
