No More X Uber Campaign

January 7, 2019

Years and years ago I saw a commercial for NO MORE with Mariska Hargitay and immediately knew I had to be involved with this organization. I shot an event launch for them back in 2016 in NYC and had kept in touch with the team since. The stars aligned this November when we were able to collaborate on this campaign “Don’t Stand By.”

This day was such a world wind. 6:45am call time and 11 scenario set ups, with the most amazing crew. Thank you to everyone involved. More to come on this campaign in 2019!

NO MORE Week 2016

March 11, 2016

"NO MORE Week is a national grassroots activation aimed at making domestic violence and sexual assault awareness and prevention a priority year-round"

I had the privilege of photographing for NO MORE yesterday as a part of the NO MORE Week. A display of postcards featuring the voices of hundreds of advocates and survivors was on display in Planet Hollywood Times Square. People were invited to say “NO MORE” to domestic violence and sexual assault, by adding their own personalized postcards to the display.

It was incredibly moving to read the stories and talk to survivors at the event. I myself have never been a victim, but feel a strong connection the the organization and what they do for those looking for support in their community who aren't going to blame them but help them.

NO MORE has strong ties to Law and Order SVU's cast, as they depict many stories in their episodes tied to current events and situations that are real to many victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. I spoke with one woman at the event, who is a survivor of domestic violence, about how she recently saw a Law and Order SVU episode that accurately depicted sexual assault on campus and how many women are not given the support by their community and often action is not taken against their abusers. She said how it's interesting that in many aspects the television show shows more light on these problems than often the government. "Go Olivia!" she says as she punches her fist in the air.

To find out more about events going on in your area you can go to nomore.org and check out my coverage on the Facebook Page  and Self Magazine.
