T's Best Fashion of 2015 article today, which I was honored to be included in, reminded me to do a 2015 recap blog post.
What a crazy year it's been! I began shooting for T Magazine this year. My first assignment was covering Berlin's bar opening. Quickly after I join a staff of amazing fashion journalism photographers covering NYFW for the magazine's online platform.
NYFW is my favorite and most hectic time of year. What April is to accountants, fashion week is to me. I shot and partied with celebs I only read about and see on E! News. I produced some of my best work yet this past September.
Every NYFW I stay at the Dream Hotels, with two locations - one walking distance from the colorful Times Square and the other in the center of Meatpacking. This year they hired me to photograph Dream Beach (Dream Downtown's pool) involving inflatable pizza and flamingos and a model sporting the newest swim lines. It was special to me being able to do work for a brand I call my second home.
I feel the same way about Loon Mountain. I captured the seasonal children skiers of Loon Mountain, where the kids schooled me on how to ski. Loon taught me how to ski and gave me a new love to fill my winter weekends.
Prior to NYFW, I worked with Ovadia and Sons, shooting backstage and runway at the first ever New York Fashion Week Men's. This year I also continued photographing for The Boston Celtics for the second year. I worked personally with forward Brandon Bass, now with the Lakers, and become closer to the team as I documented their community involvement and occasional games. Isaiah Thomas became the majority of my NBA work as he contributes most heavily to the community out of all the players.
This year was also my first time covering Pre Fall, where I shot behind the scenes of lookbook campaigns for designers Carolina Herrera, Prabal Gurung and J. Mendel.
I continued shooting for TomboyKC, photographing portraits of vibrant independent boss women living in NYC, Men's Journal, shooting their issue parties on rooftops across NYC, and collaborating with actresses Cara Santana and Jamie Chung for their personal style blogs.
Being published in Buzzfeed, Vogue Runway, Forbes, The Boston Globe, GRAZIA, Nylon, and most notably Instagram's Search Banner, has made this year my best yet.
I hope in 2016 to add more clients that I call friends
Produce more work that pushes my creativity
& Continue to enhance my love for my career with every photograph I take
